Genesis Collection: A Performance Sportswear Ensemble
When we reflected on our golf experience and met with hundreds of other ladies, we encountered a universal truth: no girl or woman likes how they look in golf clothes. To us, this was frustrating at first – especially since men don’t often share this sentiment. It forced us to ask and explore the tough questions around equality and gender disparity that have persisted for too long in and outside of sport. Through this exploration process, it also revealed an opportunity from which the March First Genesis collection would be born.
Women represent nearly 30% of the golfing community.
The recent growth of new female golfers FAR outweighs the growth on the men’s side. This growth means there is a tremendous volume of new players ready and eager to explore new brands, styles, and communities.
So why is there a gap in the supply of quality services to meet this demand?
We couldn’t just stand by and let the current state persist.
As a new entrant, we wanted to ensure a hyper focus on the key issues in the market and not get too distracted by other stylistic needs which will come with time. Functional design enhancement was our foremost priority.
What you’re seeing with the Genesis collection is the embodiment of style, form, and function as well as minimalism, comfort, and fit.
Throughout this collection, you’ll see nods to many functional enhancements (princess lines to accentuate upper body fit, deeper pockets, more comfortable inside shorts, sleeve length, etc). We hope the intentionality is both appreciated and unnoticeable as is often the case with great design.
While this first edition is certainly performance centric, we expect to drop additional Genesis styles throughout the year where you will see a continuance of technical improvements along with added style and sophistication.
As indicated by the name, this is just the beginning.
